Let's Discover What It Is and the Uses of the Body Pillow or Pregnancy Pillow
Known and recommended by mothers, the body pillow has become essential during and after pregnancy. But, do you know that it has many more uses? Let's discover them!
We all know that sleeping on our side is good for us, but it can aggravate back pain from sciatica, herniated discs, ruptured and bulging discs, spinal stenosis, spinal arthritis, and muscle spasms. Body pillows are designed to prevent all of this as they mold to your body, helping you keep your back aligned and giving you a good rest during the night.
What is the Body Pillow
A body pillow, pregnancy pillow or full body cushion is a large pillow that provides the body with extraordinary comfort, relief and a relaxed night's sleep. These long, mattress-like pillows mold to your body to provide full support for your back and extremities. Its use can eliminate pain in pressure points such as knees or elbows.
The Three Most Common Uses of the Body Pillow
The body pillow or pillow for pregnancy has three fundamental benefits.
- Full body support while you sleep. The length of the cushion supports your entire body and helps you sleep on your side, which is the best position.
- Muscle relaxation. When the spine is aligned and the weight of the arms and legs are divided equally, you can breathe better while blood circulation improves and your muscles can relax completely throughout the night.
- Relief from back pain during pregnancy. If you are pregnant, you should not take medication for your back pain. The pregnancy pillow relieves back pain by keeping you in a good position when sleeping or resting. The use of the pregnancy pillow has been shown to be effective against heartburn, nasal congestion, and morning sickness. In other words, using a pregnancy pillow brings numerous health benefits to women that are not only good for them but also for their babies.
Of course, many mothers use the body pillow to breastfeed their babies more comfortably. Just place the body pillow around you, making it like a bed for the baby, and you avoid having to support its weight.
If you want to breastfeed your baby lying in bed, place the pregnancy pillow parallel to your side. Now adjust the baby's position on the nursing pillow so that his face is facing your side. To support the child, place one hand under his neck and the other under his body. You can now breastfeed your baby comfortably.
An Unexpected Use of the Pregnancy Pillow!
As a mother, you know that the baby should spend time on his tummy to strengthen the muscles that support the head, among other things.
Using a body pillow serves to position your baby inclined with the shoulders and head higher than the hips. Making it a little easier for you to lift and hold your head for long periods. It also changes your baby's line of vision so he can see more of his surroundings. Additionally, one of my favorite things about using the body pillow in this way is that it allows baby to reach, touch, and grasp his toys before he can shift all of his weight to one arm to free up the other for these tasks.
What do you think of the body pillow? Fabulous, right? Get yours right here , and start using it!
And now a couple of sayings to share! :)
